Role: Competitive UX audit, wireframing, concept development, design, file preparation, and handoff to the development team.

Tools: Figma, Illustrator

Process: The project began with an extensive audit of 23 competitors’ newsletter sign-ups and article pages, including local news outlets and major players like The Wall Street Journal and The New York Times. The audit analyzed key elements such as ad placements, the number of articles featured, and overall page functionality. Using insights from competitor strengths and weaknesses, I designed a page that aligns with The Seattle Times’ branding while improving usability. To ensure a seamless development process, the design was built within existing code structures for efficient handoff and rapid implementation.
